On September 1, 2023, ZEALS hosted the “ZEALS SUMMIT” at Hotel Tokyo Gajoen. This exclusive, invitation-only event marked the company’s first conference in five years. Welcoming guests from various industries, primarily large corporations, the summit delved into the future of chat commerce and generative AI, providing a valuable opportunity for participants to network and exchange insights.

Session 1: Global Trends in Generative AI – Unleashing Corporate Uniqueness and Strengths

The ZEALS SUMMIT featured three informative sessions and a networking event. In the opening session, Takuya Kudo, Partner at McKinsey & Company, and Masa Shimizu, CEO of ZEALS, took the stage. Kudo, who heads McKinsey’s QuantumBlack AI Center of Excellence in Japan, discussed business and marketing case studies centered around Generative AI and the types of data vital for companies. Shimizu spoke on the advancements of generative AI in the U.S., sharing case studies he’s actively following based on his experiences leading U.S. business initiatives.

Session 2: The Reality and Societal Implementation of Chat Commerce and Generative AI

Kunimi Mabuchi, author of “The Impact of Generative AI” and Representative Director of Metaverse Japan, moderated this session. Joining him were speakers Soichiro Matsushima from Matsuo Laboratory and Ryuta Endo, COO of ZEALS. Topics included the foundational principles of Generative AI, considerations in choosing large-scale language models (LLM), and marketing application challenges. They also highlighted the collaboration between Matsuo Laboratory and ZEALS, unveiled in April.

Session 3: Case Study: “The Drafters” – Asahi Beer’s Cutting-Edge Use of Chat Commerce

Takuya Nishimura of Asahi Breweries, Ltd. led this session, spotlighting cutting-edge use cases of chat commerce. He introduced “THE DRAFTERS”, Asahi Beer’s monthly direct to consumer home server rental service, elaborating on how it was incepted to how user insights garnered from chat commerce is being used. Additionally, he explored the potential synergies with generative AI, presenting tangible examples that captivated the audience.

The summit culminated with a networking event, fostering connections among attendees from diverse industries, including Finance, Insurance, Automobile, Cosmetics, Education, Human Resources, D2C, and Food.
