ZEALS Strengthens Leadership Team with Head of AI

Tokyo, Japan, Sep 28, 2023 – ZEALS Co., Ltd. (ZEALS) announced the appointment of Dr. Matthieu Destephe as the Head of AI. In this pivotal role, Dr. Destephe will spearhead the company’s AI strategy and development and global market positioning.

Dr. Destephe received a Ph.D. in Robotics from Waseda University, and grew his extensive expertise in the realms of AI and machine learning working on complex technical projects. His journey commenced as a Tech Lead and Engineering Manager at Softbank Robotics Japan, where he honed his skills. Subsequently, he served as an AI Solutions Architect and Data Scientist at BCG GAMMA, a division of Boston Consulting Group. Dr. Destephe’s journey continued as he took the helm of AI research at Mercari and later on, contributed significantly to the enhancement of search relevancy while overseeing teams within Mercari’s Search Engineering Division.

Zeals is excited to welcome Dr. Destephe aboard, reinforcing its development team with his invaluable talent. His mission will be to drive the advancement of Chat Commerce products, with a distinct focus on the integration of state-of-the-art generative AI technology into our society.
